Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Jaisalmer Market ("the Platform", "we", "us") lets shop owners run their shop online, including a shop website at an address like yourshop.jaisalmer.store. This policy explains what data we collect from shop owners and from customers who use shop websites, and how we handle it.

2. What we collect

• Shop owner accounts: name, email, phone number and a password (stored only as a secure hash, never as plain text).
• Shop details: shop name, address, shop type, UPI ID, photos you upload (logo, banner, products) and, if you choose to mark it, your shop's map location for delivery charges.
• Business records you create: products, prices, orders, khata (udhaar) entries and sales you record.
• Customers ordering from a shop website: name, phone number, delivery address, order details and, only if they choose to share it, their location so the delivery charge can be worked out.
• Shopper accounts (optional): name, phone number and a hashed password for customers who create an account to reorder faster.

3. How we use it

• To run your shop website: show your rates, take orders, keep your khata.
• To calculate distance-based delivery charges when a location is shared.
• To keep the Platform secure and prevent abuse (rate limiting, session cookies).

We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use your data for marketing to third parties.

4. Who can see what

• Your public shop website shows what you choose to publish: shop name, address, products, prices, photos and announcements.
• Customer order details (name, phone, address, location) are visible only to the shop the order was placed with, so it can deliver.
• Khata and sales records are visible only to you and your staff users.

5. Cookies

We use only essential cookies: a login session cookie for shop owners and staff, and one for shoppers who sign in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Where data lives and how it is protected

Data is stored on trusted cloud providers (Vercel and Neon Postgres) in the Singapore region, with connections encrypted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Access to production systems is limited to the Platform operator.

7. How long we keep data

Your data stays as long as your shop account is active. If you ask us to delete your shop, we remove your account, shop, products, images, orders and khata records from the live database. Backups clear on their own rotation schedule.

8. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Customers who ordered from a shop can also ask the shop or us to remove their details. Write to support@jaisalmer.store and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Children

The Platform is meant for shop owners aged 18 or above. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Grievances

In line with Indian IT rules, any grievance about data handling can be raised at support@jaisalmer.store. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
